This song evokes strong feelings– simply gives me the chills. Love the closing lines sung by Clopin ‘who is the monster, and who is the man?’. Beautiful song.

I totally agree! The note at the end gives me chills too. The chills I get from this movie make me love it even more, it’s so unique!

i completely agree with you!!!! even as a little little kid i absolutely loved this movie the most….i think it might have been all the religious references that made it bearable for children to watch without being truly terrified…i loved it so much especially when Quasimodo claims “Sanctuary” w/ Esmeralda in his arms gives me chills

Without a doubt, the most powerful song in the movie, uncommon for the opening song. Easily the most powerful in any Disney movie, actually.
Disney songs each have certain languages they shine in, but English is definitely the best for this one. The person who voices Clopin in English has such a powerful voice. The high note at the end gives me chills.

I wish there was more Disney villains like Frollo.Sure Dr. Facilier is cool,but not as real as Frollo.

@Bragglord Kinda ironic…they have evil fish, evil genies, evil gods, but the greatest evil of all rests in mankind itself…I think Frollo is the biggest vilain, followed by Gaston, who is-Surprisingly, haha- human. I love the whole story, it shows how people can really be (and the book is even worse:D) It’s my dark side, I guess
